Dreaming of a career in International Development? Striving to make a real impact on the world? 

The Tevel Internship Program targets the most outstanding leaders and young professionals who are interested in deepening their professional knowledge and experience and are passionate about working for a change both locally and globally. The interns work on multidisciplinary projects for 5-months in partnership with national interns from Nepal. The program includes training prior to deployment and throughout the program, covering topics such as intercultural work, community building, globalization, language study and professional training.
The program allows for a valuable starting point into the world of international development and provides its participants with valuable tools and theories in development and social activism. The program allows for an in-depth professional experience in different fields such as entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, public health, community social work and human rights and the developing world.

The Tevel Internship is open to:

  • Young, Jewish professionals with hands-on experience and relevant academic background in fields related to international development such as agriculture, work with youth and young leadership, women’s empowerment and gender, social studies, governance and policy, health and anthropology.
  • Outstanding young leaders with limited or no academic experience but strong leadership potential and passion for social change.

Eligibility

Tevel Fellows are young professionals with a degree or significant professional experience in one of the following fields:

  • Agriculture: Sustainable agriculture, agronomy and plant science, animal husbandry or veterinary medicine, innovative technology in agriculture.
  • Health: Nursing, public health, paramedical professions, and physicians.
  • Entrepreneurship: Establishing small social businesses, developing business plans, developing income generating projects for impoverished communities, access to market, IT infrastructure and computer education.
  • Community: Social work, group facilitation, drama, youth leadership and informal education.
  • Governance and policy:Human rights, local governance, local and community organizations, public policy.

Don’t have experience in these fields? The Tevel Internship is also open to young leaders with passion and commitment to social change. No academic or professional experience necessary!

What's included

The Tevel Internship program offers a highly-subsidized package that covers many expenses while on the program (what you really need- no frills at all).

All interns cover their own flights and medical insurance.
The 5-month program costs $600, out of which $300 is a participation fee to be paid upon acceptance to ensure your place in the program.

The program covers the following:

  • In-country professional training and language study
  • Accommodations
  • Staff Support

All interns do need some additional pocket money to cover personal expenses and travel during vacations. Likewise, there is a participation fee of $300 to be paid upon acceptance to the program.
