The great majority of rural villagers have little experience with finance and markets. They lack crucial knowledge on record keeping, balancing inputs and outputs, market-oriented farm planning, and much more. In Mphande, Tevel works with local farmers to enhance their financial literacy and market savvy. We help them understand the kinds of products that are needed and desired on the market, what season to grow, what to do in order to get the best prices, where and to whom to sell. We will work with the community to create a collection center for storing and marketing produce for all farmers of the village for sale at times of prime market demand. Tevel also helps residents work together to create micro-lending funds and savings groups.
