Partnership with the University of Arizona

Together with the University of Arizona’s College of Social & Behavioral Sciences: Arizona Center for Judaic Studies, Tevel will offer a for-credit program bringing students to Israel for 4 weeks followed by 4 weeks of study and volunteering in Zambia. The program includes students from a range of disciplines, such as Jewish studies, agronomy, engineering, business, religion, and more. In tandem with the University of Arizona.

Tevel offers volunteer opportunities combining service with study, research and learning, fostering a deeper connection to both community and global responsibility. Rooted in the Jewish values of tikkun olam (repairing the world) and social justice, but inspired by contemporary thought and research as well, Tevel's volunteer initiatives provide individuals of all backgrounds the chance to engage in hands-on projects aimed at sustainable development in impoverished communities.

In partnership with the Judaic Studies department of the University of Haifa, Tevel will offer a program that combines Jewish thinking on social and environmental justice with courses on sustainability and a semester-long internship at our project in Zambia.

Tevel will host participants of Aardvark, a Jewish gap year program in Israel in Nepal for a two-week immersive experience in village community development accompanied by Tevel educational guidance. Tevel is scheduled to host Aardvark in March 2024 in Nepal, pending recruitment, and in 2025 in Zambia.

Planned Volunteer Program in Nepal - Tevel will begin recruiting for a 3-week volunteer experience in Nepal in collaboration with our Nepalese partner for post-army Israelis and other Jews in Fall 2024.
