Tevel had the privilege of hosting Chengetai Musikavanhu as part of her internship experience in Zambia alongside our partners at Africa Access Water. Chengetai was an important part of the smallholder farmers’ training we did in Mphande and was a great help in framing the nutrition field in Tevel. Read more about Chengetai’s experience:
My name is Chengetai Musikavanhu from Zimbabwe. I studied BA Honours in Economic History and Masters in African Sustainable Communities. I did my internship with Tevel b’tzedek and Africa Access Water in Zambia from September to December 2022.
The internship was a great experience for me and I learnt a lot through the two organizations. I participated in agriculture trainings in the Mphande area of Zambia, where the two organisations are implementing a project to provide solar powered water for production.
During my internship, I developed a strategy for nutrition training in the Mphande and the trainings are being implemented by the organisations. I was part of two training sessions, the first one focusing on nutrition as it relates to agriculture and the other one focusing on the importance of nutrition.
The organisations were amazing in giving guidance and support throughout the internship period and because of this, I had a great experience and have learned a lot. Many many thanks to Tevel and AfAW for the wonderful opportunity.
